Today we have two activities beginning with SPEECH
1) You will fill out a pre-assessment rubric based on where you think you are
when speaking in front of people.
2) On the rubric, you will write down the topic(s) you are considering speaking
about!
Next:
I will give you back your short story and you will
1) read them with a critical eye
2) mark them up with a colored pen/pencil - checking for the elements on the rubric. You will do this carefully, You will not consult with a neighbor.
3) highlight the elements of the dramatic arc in one color
4) highlight your descriptive, dystopian word choices in another color
5) identify the dystopian control at the top of the page
6) circle any errors in conventions - spelling, punctuation, capitalization, grammar
THEN
7) you will make comments about your story and GRADE YOURSELF, PUTTING YOUR GRADE ON THE RUBRIC - IF YOU ARE THINKING YOU ARE ADVANCED - PROVIDE EVIDENCE
