Harrison Bergeron Essay + Example Hooks and Grabbers

Today our goal is to finish annotating "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut and begin writing your essay.  FIRST, we will discuss the story.

Please use the format that you used for your analysis of "The Lottery" - Your paper should be:

MLA Format
MS Word
When you are finished - put it into ONE NOTE, LA, WRITING, new page titled Harrison Bergeron Analysis

Paragraph #1 Intro (fab hook - please look at the ideas below) with mention of the theme.  You will also provide evidence for theme, the dystopian control, and the characters - except for Harrison, can you make an argument that all the other characters are static?

Question:
Can you imagine a world where everyone willingly is equal to each other?
Think about it! Equality or individuality.  What would you choose?

Anecdotes:
I have always been slightly jealous of those who I think are better than me.  It makes me yearn for equality.  But, since reading KV Harrison B, I think I changed my mind.

Character: 

In the short story HB, by KV, one of the characters, George, willingly chooses to handicap his strength and intelligence to be equal to his wife who is as dumb as a post and represents the lowest common denominator in the society.
