so that you can improve your next analysis.
Today, we are moving on to our next short story,
"Harrison Bergeron" by the amazing writer, Kurt Vonnegut.
We are going to move through this story quicker than "The Lottery", however the expectations are the same. You will:
1) We will watch and discuss the short film first. THE LINK IS ON THE NOV 2 BLOG POST IF YOU WISH TO WATCH IT AGAIN.
2) Read and annotate the story with a partner in class (and at home by yourself) in the same way you read and annotated Jackson's piece. DUE ON FRIDAY November 11 C&D Block
a) You will annotate with an eye toward finding evidence for
i) Control - Bureaucratic, Corporate, Technological, Philosophical
ii) Character (static -dynamic)
iii) Theme - What is Kurt Vonnegut warning us about?
iv) Is the theme of the film different than the theme of the text?
3) You will write an analysis using evidence from the text, comments, and transitions similar to your essay for "The Lottery"
